I know, I know. I have no willpower. But when I saw this dress, I knew I could not wait. I knew it was going to sell out and if I didn’t jump on the sale RIGHT THEN I was going to miss out on this dress, and that would be UNACCEPTABLE. Because it is green and black and velvet and everything I ever wanted in my closet.
On my desk at work, I have a picture of me, Doug, and Gizmo. It was taken long long ago – maybe 2011? – in front of Doug’s mom’s Christmas tree. It’s one of my favorite pictures of us, but as the years have gone on, I’ve been wanting to get new pictures since we’ve changed. So a few weeks ago, I asked my coworkers Dylan and Danielle, owners of Three Twenty Studio, if they would come over and do family portraits of the three of us. Doug wasn’t too keen on the idea (he doesn’t like having his picture taken), but I convinced him that it would be fun. And I was right. It was fun. 😀 I wanted our pictures to be fairly casual – just us in what we would normally wear every day – although we did put a bandana on Gizmo because it just made […]
So back in January (I know, I am super late with this!) Doug and I visited Los Angeles for a few days! He had to go out there for a work event, and I was lucky enough to be able to go with him. Our first few days were spent mostly at the Los Angeles Convention Center (which was HUGE), but after the event was over we had a couple of days to play tourist. I discovered that I loved Los Angeles a hell of a lot more than I ever thought I would. Here’s some pictures from our trip!
This past Saturday, Mom and I spent the day at the New Orleans Museum of Art to see their latest exhibition, “A Life of Seduction: Venice in the 1700s”. Not only that, but the museum played host to New Orleans first “Concorso d’ Eleganza”, in which Ferrari owners displayed their vehicles! I took a TON of pictures, too. What can I say, I love art AND cars! 🙂
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been really trying to take my camera with me everywhere and just get random shots of things that I like.
Lately, I’ve found that I really enjoy getting pictures of food. You might be wondering, “Where the heck do I get this food?” Don’t worry, I got you! Chicken shawarma from Albasha, Hammond Grilled cheese and tomato basil soup from The Big Cheezy, New Orleans Chocolate hazelnut yogurt with raspberries and blueberries from Pinkberry, New Orleans Cheesemongers mac-and-cheese with charcuterie plate from St. James Cheese Company, New Orleans Ice cream sampler from The Creole Creamery, New Orleans
Last weekend, Doug and I finally had a chance to visit the National WWII Museum in New Orleans. We’ve been meaning to go for a few years now, but never made the time. It was a really good – if somewhat emotional – experience and I managed to get some great pictures while I was there. We weren’t able to make it to all of the exhibits, but hopefully we can go back soon and see some of the things we missed.
